Welcome to the DOH! Network — The Official Website of Johnny Leche.

You are running the unraid version of Plex Media Server on your Linux server and when you try to go to it, it says your server is unclaimed preventing you from seeing any of your media. Not even running ClaimIt is working. What do you do? It took me a while to see it but the ClaimIt Errors and Troubleshooting had the answer. “Your DNS server is too slow, so try using 8.8.8.8and/or 8.8.4.4 as your DNS server address.” I had Google and CloudFlare in /etc/resolv.conf but they were below the DOH! Network and DNS hosting provider servers and that seems like it was enough to make it too slow. Move those to the top and then try climing the server through the Plex interface on your server. It should claim it now.

I wonder if that might have caused the other issues I was seeing with the games and webcam pages.

I mentioned the other day how my free GitHub account had limited AI suggestions. I managed to hit the limit on work's paid plan this morning. It booted me out of Claude Sonnet mode and into GPT-4.1. I had to ask AI what that means: “Claude excels at deep reasoning, coding, and handling very long contexts, while GPT-4 leads in speed, mathematical ability, and extensive multimodal integration (audio, image, video).” I managed to update end-to-end tests in Python to not clean up after a component test fails, to help with debugging, and now need to work on the inline tests. Fingers crossed I don't run out of GPT-4 suggestions. Should I be worried?

UPDATE: I don't think I like GPT-4. Claude seems more helpful updating code. GPT-4 would update code but put it somewhere else and leave a comment saying “Put your new code here”. You suggested it. You put it there instead of somewhere else!

DOH! The internet service provider for the DOH! Network made an update overnight to improve the network quality so you can view the DOH! Network that much better but in the process, the ip address for the site changed. The change was easy and quick with a couple of updates to the named files and an update on the domain registrar. The site back up internally but may take up to an hour for internet users. For all three of you who still visit the site, thanks for your patience.

AI is proving to be super helpful debugging server error logs. I have been able to knock out a bunch of errors that were spamming my error logs and improve security from hackers like the guy trying to hack my cgi-bin. Luckily, Apache was catching those hacking attempts but now that stuff should be blocked and turn off hackers trying to go that way. I have not used the cgi-bin in years and then I was only using it for the q-plug game server status but GameDig is a much better replacement for that.

One interesting error was found when somebody tried to access the Amazing Barry content. I haven't linked to that in a while. Just took a look and man, was that code out of date. I updated it a little but I should do some more upgrading there when I have time.

Interesting. I just noticed if you click the icon for the free version of Copilot in Visual Studio Code a pop up opens showing your monthly usage and when it will reset. I already used 13.6% of my monthly inline suggestions and all I have been doing is making blog posts. I noticed the inline suggestions when I was adding posts yesterday and they were totally irrelevent to what I was typing. I type about Darksiders and the suggestions were things about my solar post. What the heck? Good try Copilot but I will turn that off to save it when I am doing javascript or some actual code. Another interesting item is the Copilot site has a copilot mascot that turns to follow your mouse around the screen similar to Johnny on the DOH! Network. I clicked the copilot but it only jumps. They don't have a dress up page like the Johnny Dress Up page.

Arrrrghhhh!!! Stupid Dark Siders III!!! I just got done with Sloth and now I have to fight Gluttony. At least with Sloth I had a safe spot with the train car. With Gluttony, there is no safe spot. I have to keep moving and dodging his attacks. I have figured out if I time it right, I can break Gluttony's acidic spit attack by throwing a flaming Salvation through it and damaging Gluttony as a bonus but in the heat of battle, I swear dodging in one direction changes direction on me or I hit a key that prevents me from looking around. DOH!

Work is encouraging us to use artifical intelligence in our day to day coding tasks. I was just looking at adding it to my home install of Visual Studio Code and after logging in with my Google account, I can ask 50 questions a month. I hope work paid for GitHub's Copilot Pro Plan because I was trying to get a Python environment set up and running end to end tests successfully today and yesterday and I asked way more than 50 questions. It did help but I felt like I was going in circles some times even though the AI agent was telling me 'No, no. We're making progress'.

I logged in to see if my new solar company had a bill for me. Wrapped in parenthesis means I have a credit, right? There are 303 zeros in that number.

The free Epic Games this week are not ones I have interest in but Ubisoft has a nice looking free game this week. Go grab yourself a free copy of Immortals Fenyx Rising™. It's a mythological adventure where you play as Fenyx trying to save the Greek gods and restore balance to the world. Big colorful worlds and characters. Looks like it could be fun once I finish Darksiders III.
